Why the legs are longer than the body

The newest and most effective variant of LPG massage is the LPG Alliance treatment, which allows women to achieve even faster and clearer results in the fight against cellulite on the legs, thighs and abdomen.

Slim thighs and hips

Thin thighs and hips reflect a lack of adipose tissue and muscle fibers in the lower limbs, leading to an imbalance in the body.

Slim thighs and hips

Many people today have complexes because of being overweight, but there are also people who suffer from deficiency symptoms. Thin legs (like full legs) often look unsightly. This deficiency is usually caused by a lack of fat and muscle in the legs.

Given the overall diminished figure, thin legs can look harmonious, but if a person has a rather bulky top and thin bottom, this can create an imbalance. It is not uncommon for patients to have beautiful and toned legs when they were young, but they have lost their shape over time. Excessive thinness can create an inferiority complex. Such people often wear baggy trousers and long skirts and do not go to the beach or swimming pool. Both sexes can have thin legs. They spoil both the impression of a female and a strong, athletic figure.

There are several factors that affect the shape of the legs:

Medically, the ideal legs are where the lower leg gradually merges into the thigh, the portion of the leg from the knee to the pelvis is strong rather than thin, and the shins are sufficiently muscular. Ideally, if the legs are close together, they should form three openings: between the calves, between the calves and knees, and between the thighs.

Unfortunately, due to individual body characteristics and genetic factors, not all legs can be shaped through exercise. And while the shape of hips is largely determined by age-related changes, the shape of shins is mostly determined by genetics. Causes of lack of volume in the lower legs include atrophy and muscle underdevelopment that can occur due to certain medical conditions.

The shape and volume of the thighs and lower legs can be most effectively adjusted before the age of 15. That is why it is very important for children to exercise, run and jump rope.

Plastic correction of slim shins

Currently thin lower legs can gain volume with cruciate plastic surgery, a procedure in which special endoprostheses are inserted into the lower legs. This procedure is very popular among male bodybuilders. The first shin augmentation surgery was performed by a French cosmetic surgeon in 1979. Today the technique has been refined, leading to a lower risk of complications and better results.

No other method can enlarge the tibia or correct its shape. Lipofilling and gel insertion either fail or cause various side effects. For example, the use of polyacrylamide gels can result in leg deformities, inflammation, and gel migration. These complications can only be treated through surgery, which can leave gross scars.

During the surgery, the surgeon inserts a silicone prosthesis (with a solid shell and a very sticky gel inside) into the lower leg. This ensures that the prosthesis can withstand the highest loads.

The prostheses come in small and large sizes and have smooth and textured surfaces. In some ways, they are similar to breast implants, but tibial prostheses are much more robust.

Croplasty is performed under spinal or epidural anesthesia, rarely under general anesthesia. The operation takes between 40 minutes and 1.5 hours. The incision is made in the pit below the knees, in a natural crease. This ensures that the scar is almost invisible 5-7 months after the operation. After the incision, the doctor creates an indentation for the prosthesis to fit under the sheath of the inner head of the biceps muscle at the back of the lower leg. The muscle sheath consists of connective tissue fibers and envelops the muscle tissue like a sheath. The implant is then placed in the pocket so that it does not put pressure on the indentation behind the knee. This placement ensures that the prosthesis does not stand out and does not cause pain or discomfort. In addition, the implant is covered with a fiber coat, which is a very strong connective tissue structure. This ensures that the prosthesis is securely fixed. For this reason, implants with a smooth surface are more often used in crossplasty.

What is the issue?

'Elephantiasis is the final stage of lymphedema of the lower limbs. It is during this period that the most serious complications from which patients suffer arise, says the phlebologist. As the specialist notes, lymphedema itself is a disease in which the capacity of the lymphatic vessels is reduced due to their congenital underdevelopment, congestion or destruction, which leads to chronic swelling of the tissues of the limb.

'The main function of the lymphatic vessels is to absorb proteins and other colloids from the tissues, i.e. everything that is not absorbed by the blood capillaries and postcapillary veins. With a dysfunction of the lymphatic system, the high concentration of proteins in the intercellular spaces leads to their denaturation, which causes a hypertrophic reaction of the connective tissue and the development of noncellular and cellular sclerosis. Hypertrophied connective tissue and edema compress capillaries and lymph vessels, some of which become blocked and the rest dilate, further slowing down lymphatic drainage, says Andrzej Begma.

The disease progresses, the symptoms worsen, says the phlebologist. In this situation, lifelong and continuous treatment becomes necessary. The prevalence of this disease in the overall structure of vascular pathology is about 8-10 %. About 120 million people worldwide suffer from this disease. In Russia, one in ten phlebology patients suffers from lymphedema of the limbs.

types of pathology

As the phlebologist notes, there are congenital lymphedema that arise as a result of genetic underdevelopment or pathological development of the vascular wall of the lymph trunks. This is called primary lymphedema. Lymphatic vessel damage can also result from trauma, burns, cancer surgery that removes lymph nodes and vessels, and inflammatory diseases such as lymphadenitis or lymphangitis. This is the secondary lymphedema.

Of course, many people are interested in how this pathology manifests itself in order to understand when to start treatment and what can improve a person's condition. 'The initial symptoms are quite common in other diseases (varicose veins, chronic venous insufficiency, tendinitis, neuropathies, etc.). - Feelings of heaviness and tiredness in the feet and lower legs, pain in the feet and lower legs, swelling of the feet and lower legs in the evening'. – says Begma.

In the later stages, the following characteristic features complete the list of symptoms

  • Persistent 'pillow' swelling of the foot that does not go away after a night's rest;
  • Stemmer's sign - when the skin on the back 2nd toe cannot be bent (this does not apply to swollen feet due to other diseases);
  • pallor of the skin on the affected limb;
  • a swelling that extends to the middle third of the tibia but not to the thigh;
  • the development of fibrosis or thickening of tissues.

'One of the main characteristics of lymphedema is the steady increase in disease symptoms. The edema becomes persistent, the volume of the limbs increases every year, and then tissue fibrosis develops. As a result, limb tissue is replaced with thick fibrous connective tissue, swelling and tissue tension increase, and the skin thickens. This is the stage of fibrosis. The result is elephantiasis,' explains the phlebologist.

Causes of cellulite in the leg area

Speaking of causes, it is more logical not to deal with the appearance of the problem as such, but with its development, leading to the appearance of lumps and bumps visible to the naked eye. Different circumstances and factors affect this process in different women, here are the most common ones:

  • Hypodynamia - or simply a sedentary lifestyle. The more a person sits, the more the tissue stagnates. When the body isn't working as it should and can't keep up with its daily workload, cellulite doesn't last long.
  • Inappropriate diet. Excessive consumption of sweets, baked goods, various sauces with many unfamiliar ingredients and carbonated drinks - all these things have a negative effect on the skin and fat layer. The ever-popular coffee can also do you a disservice as it draws water out of the body, slowing down the metabolism of all bodily fluids. Lovers of the aromatic and refreshing drink must therefore drink plenty of pure water.
  • Bad habits. Alcohol and cigarettes are close friends of the orange peel.
  • Hormonal imbalances. Since the probability of such a problem is high with pronounced cellulite, specialists recommend visiting an endocrinologist and undergoing basic examinations. Dysfunction of the thyroid and pancreas are dangerous not only for the external appearance, but also for health in general.
  • The pregnancy. During pregnancy, the development of cellulite is also linked to hormonal changes.
  • Lymphatic and venous insufficiency. This is another argument for starting cellulite treatment with a doctor's consultation.
  • Sudden weight changes – especially when a woman loses a lot of pounds quickly. In such a situation neither the skin nor the rest of the tissue has time to adapt to the new shape. In addition, weight loss with the wrong diet and insufficient physical activity is often unhealthy. The result is a loss of volume, but the cellulite remains.
  • Self-medication and uncontrolled intake of various drugs. Unfortunately, it is still common in our country to 'prescribe' oneself for various treatments, even without consulting a doctor. And this affects not only the internal organs, but also the skin.
  • Stress. This is especially true for longer periods when a woman is under stress for weeks or even months. Stressors can trigger the most unexpected reactions in the body.

How to remove cellulite: just a comprehensive approach

Such a problem cannot be solved with a single tool or method. You can't buy an anti-cellulite cream, smear it on yourself for two weeks and then see smooth skin in the mirror.

To significantly reduce the appearance of cellulite or get rid of it permanently, you need to act on multiple fronts simultaneously and in an integrated manner.

If the problem is serious, the first thing you should do is see an endocrinologist. If necessary, he will prescribe hormone treatment for you. At the same time, get some other effective tips.

Change your lifestyle by getting more exercise. Even a daily walk, going to the gym or taking part in a group exercise class two to three times a week can have a major impact on your skin. Swimming and aqua aerobics are ideal for this - the resistance of the water during physical activity smoothes the skin surface and activates the metabolism.

Eat healthy. More fruits and vegetables, oily fish, good quality low-fat milk, breakfast cereals, nuts and dried fruits are good for the body. Avoid junk food, but don't starve or restrict yourself too much or your diet will lead to stress - which, as we've already discovered, can also contribute to cellulite.

Contact a beautician who can prescribe you effective anti-cellulite treatments. Practice shows that they achieve excellent results in conjunction with a healthy diet and physical activity.

The most effective cosmetic treatment in the fight against cellulite is the so-called LPG massage. It is used for both ordinary cellulite and edematous cellulite, which is a more difficult case.

The LPG massage is performed with a special patented device from the French manufacturer LPG Systems. Visually, the operation of such devices is very simple, but this is only apparent. The skin is treated using a special manipulator with rotating rollers that grip the skin and knead it thoroughly. Vacuum and vibration work simultaneously. In this way, even the hard-to-reach, most problematic areas can be treated effectively. The original LPG massagers are equipped with a computer system that allows detailed control and adjustment of the whole process. The system has more than 350 (!) Working modes, so the beautician will find a solution for every client. Due to its effectiveness, 1 session of LPG massage can replace a whole course of manual massage!
