Children's shoe sizes in centimeters, table
The easiest way to make sure you don't make a mistake is to have both the familiar and unfamiliar terms in front of you. In regular stores and online stores you come across such markings:
- Metric. Essentially, this is a series of standard foot lengths in centimeters, in 5 centimeter increments. In our country, the most common option is children's models.
- R.U. Pitch – a common and also popular term used by Russian manufacturers. It can also be referred to as 'RU'.
- EU. The European Schtimass differs from the Russian Schtimass in that the designations are moved up one page - this can be seen in the comparison table below.
- UNITED STATES . American designation system. It can be found in US and Asian online stores.
Note: Apart from the US designation, Asian sites predominantly use European stitch dimensions. The usual scheme is the size of children's shoes in cm in the table, in EU and US. The column with the RU designation can be missing or replaced with an instruction to take the goods 1 size larger. If you don't have both, you can safely add 1 to the EU.
Below is a table of children's shoe sizes in centimeter units (metric system), gauge and EU and USA:

Now about the correspondence of the size designations of children's shoes in centimeters in relation to each other and to the length of the foot. The metric size is the simplest because, as already mentioned, it is determined simply by measuring the foot. There is a separate calculation system for RU (measurement) (which will be discussed later) and it is more complex. The following table shows the values in the different systems:

Useful tips
For children with very full feet or large heights, choosing footwear can be difficult. In this case, summer shoes, e.g. B. Sandals, have Velcro fasteners that can be easily adjusted.
When choosing closed shoes, make sure that your foot does not drag and that your ankle is well protected.
When you press the shoe down, no 'bubbles' should form on the sides, indicating that the model is designed for more fullness. It is important that the foot can slide freely into the shoe - if you have to force the shoe on, it means the shoe is not full enough.
Taking into account all the nuances of choosing shoes, correctly determining the parameters of children's feet and using the ready-made tables, parents can be sure to choose the best pair of shoes or boots from the Skorokhod range.
Size charts for different age groups
Skorokhod specialists have developed their own size tables for each age and type of shoes, in which the parameters of the models are indicated in both the metric and straight measurement systems. The first column (M) – the length of the foot, the second column (W) – the value in stitch (1 stitch = ~6.67 mm (i.e. 2/3 cm)).
Important!!! To determine the correct size, find the number in the M column, which is determined by measuring the length of the foot, and the corresponding number in the W column.
Shoes: Skorokhod shoes are intended for children from newborn to 12 months old.

Application
Skorokhod's products are deservedly very popular because the models were developed taking into account the anatomical features of the growing foot. Choosing the right size is easy: measure your child's foot as accurately as possible and use the size chart to determine the correct number.

Useful tips
Children grow quickly, so it is important to buy shoes with a supply. To determine the reserves, add 0.5 to 1.5 cm to the child's shoe size, depending on the season. This will determine the length of the foot, and the items selected according to this measurement will be the same size as they are now.
To avoid getting the wrong size, measure in the months before the end of the year. Until the age of 2 years, a child's foot should be measured every 2 months. The older the child gets, the slower his measurements change. Between the ages of 3 and 6, measurements should be taken four times a year; from 7 years onwards, measuring twice is sufficient. Due to the asymmetry of the body, one foot is always longer than the other, so the larger value should be taken as a basis.
Another important aspect is the instep. This is the distance from the ground to the ankle. Shoes with a low instep are not suitable for people with high feet. In most cases they simply won't fit. Even if you manage to push your foot inward, walking will be impossible. Unfortunately, this parameter is not specified by the manufacturers. You have to determine it by eye or by trying on the products.
If you are able to hold the shoes in your hand, you can measure the instep at the same time. For shoes and boots, this is the distance from the ground to the buckle. For boots it is the distance from the ground to the cuff transition. Paying attention to this point can help you avoid returns and exchanges.
If you buy children's shoes without trying them on, it is advisable to carefully study all the features in the description, look at the model in pictures and, if available, also in videos. It is also important to find out about the manufacturer, visit the official website (children's sizes are often indicated there) and read reviews. If you have no experience buying shoes in a particular store, the first time it is better to choose models with Velcro, with laces, with elastic inserts and one size larger than required. It's better to have an extra pair to grow into.
Features of dimensional grids of popular brands
Every fashion designer starts from his own measurements and allowances. For this reason, shoes from different brands have their own characteristics. For Next brand boots, for example, experts advise taking the length of the insole into account. The edge post is rounded to a larger value. Each model range of this brand has its own size table. This is what you should pay attention to when shopping for an outfit.
A special feature of the children's brand Reima is the different foot lengths for the same size. For example, in 19 there are foot lengths 12.7 and 11.5. This is the manufacturer's individual approach to winter and summer shoes. Warm boots are one size larger than light sandals.
The children's shoes from the Finnish brand Kuoma are characterized by high-quality materials, a wide variety of models and a wide range of colors. Summer boots sit very well on the foot. Winter boots, on the other hand, are always a little too big, even if they are selected strictly according to the company's size grid. In the event of such an error, the manufacturer has provided removable insoles.
How do I choose correctly?
So, we have already found out when the foot reaches 12 cm, what size baby shoes are and for what age you should buy shoes. Now we have to look at the rules for buying children's shoes.
The child should be encouraged to make his or her own choice. In this case, you can choose a few suitable models and ask the child to decide for himself what he wants to take. In this way, conflicts such as 'I don't like that - I won't wear that' will no longer arise. The child will see that his opinion is important for mom, he will learn to compare models and develop taste.
To avoid unnecessary costs, shoes should be purchased in advance. Since babies grow very quickly, a 'suitable' model can be too small after just a few months. But shoes shouldn't be too loose either, because the baby can either twist their foot or trip and pull off the socks.
The style of the shoes is also important. Models with laces may not fit the child's foot very well and may cause injury if they come loose. Normally the laces can be tied by an adult. It is better to choose models with Velcro fasteners. They are reliable and practical. They make it easier for the child to learn to put on and take off their shoes.
Finally, a few useful tips
We have already found out what size the child's shoes are when the foot reaches 12 cm, we figured out how to determine the size of the foot and choose the right shoes. Now a few useful tips for new parents for the future.
If you need to buy shoes without a child, you can use the paper 'insole' mentioned above. With such an insole, you can come to the store and compare it with the insole of the shoes you like. This is more convenient than following the size information.
Danger!!! In children up to the age of two, the foot grows faster, about half a size in a few months. From the age of three, this growth slows a little, so you should only measure every three months, and after six years, once every six months.
If you need to buy boots or winter boots, you can safely add one or even two sizes to the correct size. Especially if the mother plans to wear warm socks or tights.
Buy shoes at a reasonable price. Don't try to buy the most expensive thing and pay unimaginable amounts of money for the brand. But you shouldn't skimp either. If your purchase wears out quickly, you will have to buy a new pair of shoes in the same season.

How to choose shoe sizes for children
Children need just as many shoes as adults. Even the little ones can't go without shoes. From shoes to boots. They are decorated with pictures, stickers, bows and toys.
Mothers want their children to stand out. They buy several pairs to wear every day and on formal occasions. Parents don't have time to shop. Especially if they have a child. The advent of the ability to purchase goods online has become a lifesaver for mothers. This saves time and nerves.
Shoes for teenagers
How to determine the size of shoes for teenagers
Even teenage children want to look fashionable and attractive. This is especially true for girls. They try to imitate adults by asking to buy nice shoes. Fortunately, designers and manufacturers create many types of shoes. With decorations, drawings, applications. A variety of colors.
The bodies of teenage girls are already more mature. However, buying shoes should be taken seriously. Attention should be paid not only to the attractive appearance, but also to the size. In this way, illnesses caused by unsuitable footwear can be avoided. Parents should supervise the purchase if they are not involved.
In a real store you have the opportunity to put on your shoes, walk around and sit down. Notice how they feel. A teenager can deceive his mother. For example, if she likes the shoes, the girl will remain silent about the inconvenience.
With the advent of online shopping, the child can buy his own clothes. Parents should teach them to calculate their foot size and use the register. Alternatively, you can also take the time to complete the child's wardrobe yourself.
During puberty, the body changes rapidly. Therefore, teach your child to measure their feet before every purchase. Determine the size of the feet. To do this, take a piece of paper and a ruler. Circle the feet on a clean piece of paper and measure the distance from the heel to the big toe. Measure on two feet and choose the larger value.
If you buy winter or sports shoes, take the measurement with your socks on. Preferably in the evening. At this point, your feet are already stomped and enlarged.
Determine your result using the size chart. If the number is more than thirty, use the teenager table. The table shows the length of the foot in centimeters. For example, the foot size is 22 cm, the national size is accordingly 34.
