Where should you start your business? Decide on a shoe range ….

Shoemaking is a very specific business. It is the duty of the founder of the company to understand and learn all the technological processes, how shoes are made and what material they are made of. Without this basic knowledge it is impossible to control the entire production process.

It's also important to keep up to date with new developments, be it in the field of equipment or fashion trends.

If a budding entrepreneur does not have a special education in this field, but really wants to start a Russian shoe production, it is advisable to start with a narrow profile. For example, produce only shoes for women - boots, ballet flats, shoes, sandals. Become an expert in this field and only then dare to try something new.

Classify shoes according to different parameters:

  1. Seasonal – semi-seasonal (spring, summer, fall, winter).
  2. Gender and age – men, women, children, teenagers.
  3. Purpose of use:
    • Professionally;
    • orthopedic;
    • Household;
    • casual;
    • Industry; Production;
    • Production;
    • Military;
    • Parade.

Research your region: which shoes are in short supply, which shoes does the population need. Only focus on your own region and neighboring regions as newcomers cannot cover the whole country.

Registration of a shoe company – GmbH or IP?

Once you have decided what you want to do business with, which customers you expect to meet, you can start registering your company. If you want to produce Russian shoes, but only in small quantities, you only need to issue IE status.

  1. Go to the tax office and apply on form number P21001.
  2. Do not forget to indicate the OKVED activity code.
    15.20.1'Manufacture of footwear (except sports, protective and orthopedic footwear)'.
    15.20.5'Custom manufacture of shoes and various shoe accessories by an individual'.
    …‘.
  3. It is necessary to choose the type of taxation. The simplified system - 15 % on the difference between the company's income and operating costs - will be reasonable.
  4. Pay the state tax of 800 rubles. Give the receipt to the tax inspector.
  5. Bring your passport and TIN if you have one.

Registracija-ip-po-shagam

Within 5 working days you will receive a certificate of sole trader status in your name.

It's worth ordering a stamp - you'll need it for your records. Setting up a bank account is not mandatory but advisable. This makes it easier for you to make payments to suppliers and major customers.

If you have decided to expand your business, incorporate a limited liability company. You can also look for partners who want to jump into your business and become shareholders, but for now you should just go with a sole proprietorship.

Materials for interior decoration

The interior is made of leather, wool or fur. The most important thing is that the insole is flat and has hygienic properties.

The materials used for the tops are diverse.

natural leather is the most flexible and comfortable to wear. The most important properties are: It is soft, comfortable to wear and breathable. Such an upper material for sandals or shoes, for example, is usually a sign of quality. Such a quality purchase for children will last a long time and please parents. Sandals, ballet flats, sneakers and other models with textile upper Choose them for indoor use or for the summer season. The lightness of textiles makes feet feel free and comfortable. An important aspect is style and design. Textile tops often look fashionable and eye-catching.

Main function rubber products– They protect against water and moisture. Therefore, they should not be worn often for other purposes. But today rubber boots with felt, fur or wool inserts inside are becoming increasingly popular. Read the article rubber boots. These models are intended for use in autumn and winter. They're warm, comfortable and won't get wet. Rubber is sensitive to heat, so its structure can be damaged by freezing or drying out from heating.

Compared to natural leather, leatherette less expensive. However, with high-quality manufacture, it often looks more neat and attractive, and looks very chic and colorful. Artificial leather has many disadvantages: it is not flexible, it does not allow air to flow, the structure cracks and breaks, it is not wear-resistant. And the smallest children under the age of two should not wear such products at all! More information on choosing products for children can be found here.

Janita - comfortable footwear for women from Finland

Janita shoes are worn in Finland, Sweden, Norway, the Baltic States and Russia. Janita is considered to be the largest Finnish shoe manufacturer specializing in women's shoes. Janita is a family business founded by Kalevi Salmi in the late 1950s. The tradition of shoe production thus goes back four generations. The sons, managing director Jari Salmi and deputy director Jarno Salmi, continue the shoe-making tradition to this day.

Janita's main factory is located in Seinäjoki in western Finland. More than 200 professional shoemakers work there. The harsh and unpredictable weather conditions in the north dictate the demands on the materials used for the shoes, so the shoes are made from special materials that have been adapted for the northern climate. The material and quality are as Finnish as possible. This is especially beneficial in Russia, where there are cold and salty winters and wet autumn and spring.

More than 80 % of Janita shoes production are exported. A few years ago, Janita received the 'President's Export Award' for his active engagement and successful efforts to develop Finnish foreign trade, including with Russia.

The Janita brand has been known in our country since Soviet times. Since the production of shoes is strictly controlled at all stages of manufacturing, there is no doubt about the quality of all products.

The production and manufacture of shoes is a special, traditional industry. After all, the quality of shoes is not just a question of technology. It requires a high level of skill, ability and experience, which the Janita shoe manufacturers possess to a large extent.

Technology of shoe production - workshops and stages of work

The entire production process can be divided into eight stages:

  1. A pattern is made and parts of the shoe are cut out of the materials. Depending on the model, about two to three dozen parts are needed for a shoe. It's best not to start by listing all the parts of the shoe and their names.
  2. An insole is manufactured using a press. It compresses the materials and gives them the desired shape. The edges of the insole are sanded and glued.
  3. Markings are made for the joints.
  4. The edges are burned and sanded to make them thinner and easier to sew.
  5. Seamstresses sew the parts together so that the object of work already has the shape of a shoe.
  6. So that the shape is not lost in the following steps, the sole is heated to a high temperature and thermoplastic inserts are attached. The workpiece is then rapidly cooled.
  7. The outsole, which was manufactured in an oven and then further processed, is attached to this.
  8. The finished product only needs to be polished with wool and wax, and on some models the laces are tightened.

The first two steps are carried out in the cutting department, the third and fourth steps in the marking department and the rest in the sewing room.

Opening costs and payback period

It's harder to accurately estimate the cost of a small workshop in advance than it is for a factory, but the payback period for such an enterprise should be shorter. It is considered normal that all opening costs are amortized within a year and then a profit is made. If this is not the case, then something needs to change in the procedure.

In large-scale production, the costs can be calculated more or less accurately, and the costs of acquiring the equipment already mentioned are only a small part of this. In the first year, a factory will need the following

  • for business registration – 4-5 million rubles;
  • For renting premises – 15-30 million;
  • 8-12 million for utility services;
  • Employee salaries are 30-40 million;
  • Equipment will cost 5-8 million;
  • raw materials will cost 20-30 million;
  • the logistics cost could be about 2-3 million;
  • other costs such as advertising, events and repairs amount to around 8-15 million euros.

It's a good idea to contract with a company that makes cardboard boxes for packaging the finished products.

If you have your own outlets, you will have to spend money on those too. A lot depends on their format, on average it's 5-6 million per outlet.

The total cost in the first year of operation starts from 100 million rubles. It is more likely that 120-150 million rubles will be required, not counting the internal distribution network. A normal payback period of four years is assumed for such investments.

skin types

pigskin

This material is not soft, flexible and rough and is not used for sophisticated modeling products. However, it is one of the most inexpensive and sufficiently durable species, which makes it possible to create sought-after and inexpensive economic products. Pigskin is also very resistant to water.

pressed

The material is made from shredded leather shoe waste. After crushing, the pieces are ground into dust, then a special binder is added and pressed into slabs. Shoes made of this material have some of the properties of natural leather: they are hygroscopic and allow feet to breathe, but in terms of durability they are inferior to products made of natural materials.

These products are classified as cheap.

LADIES

Cowhide, bullskin and calfskin fall into this category. As a rule, pairs in the middle price segment are made from this material. High quality and affordable products are made from very strong and durable cowhide leather. These shoes are durable and offer the best value for money. The only disadvantage is that the skin of adult animals can be damaged by insect bites, so the product can sometimes show slight damage.

Cowhide is rougher and of lower quality than cowhide. Young calfskin is slightly inferior to mature calfskin in terms of strength, but has a significant advantage in terms of softness and elasticity, and generally does not have such defects. The highly elastic, soft material is good for all kinds of processing and can be used for brand models. It is not uncommon to see shoes with a recognizable snakeskin or crocodile skin pattern in stores at bargain prices. In reality, they are shoes made of calfskin treated with an embossing.

Types of leather by processing technology

Shoe manufacturers make products from brushed leather, embossed leather, laminated leather, etc. Which types of leather are sewn depends on the intended use of the product.

nubuck leather

Nubuck leather is polished leather. Polishing gives it a velvety-soft surface. The matte material has a light-absorbing effect and looks expensive and prestigious. Shoes made of natural nubuck leather should be worn in dry weather.

If nubuck is impregnated with a special agent, this material is called nubuck oil. Products made from it are less demanding to wear and more durable.

suede

Manufactured using the fat tanning process. During processing, the smooth front side of animal skins (mainly young calves, deer) is removed. Sometimes suede is processed on the inside (bahtarmen), sometimes on the front.

The material is characterized by high hygienic properties, increased strength and softness. Suede shoes are comfortable to wear and resistant to water penetration.

velour

A type of suede. Suede leather is made from goatskin, sheepskin, opok (calfskin up to 6 months old) and farmed goatskin. Animal skins with numerous defects on the front are treated on the inside.

Velor is similar to hairy suede, but is of inferior quality. Suede shoes are water and dirt-shy and their dimensional stability leaves a lot to be desired.

paint

It is made from Chevrolet, Opock and goatskin. The surface of the leather is coated with lacquer or polyurethane resins. The result is a very smooth, glossy, painted surface. Patent leather shoes require special care and treatment. Patent leather shoes or shoes with patent leather uppers should not be worn in rainy weather or when the temperature exceeds 25 degrees Celsius.

  • Beautifully designed shop window, original store interior in a unified style;
  • outdoor advertising, in the media;
  • Distribution of advertising leaflets in high pedestrian traffic areas;
  • placement of advertising in elevators, means of transport, entrances to buildings;

The more instruments you use, the faster you will make a profit and gain a customer base.

shoes from the start. XX century

In the 20th century, shoes began to play an important role in image. The range of shoes for men and women has expanded significantly. Women's dresses became shorter and they had the opportunity to wear elegant shoes and boots. At the same time, sandals came back into fashion. The shoes are made of different materials: leather, suede, wood, satin and silk. In addition to shoelaces, hooks and buttons are now also used.

At the beginning of the 20th century, sports shoes also appeared. In 1917, the American company Converse patented the sneaker. Originally they were intended for basketball players, but they quickly became popular and everyday shoes.

Platforms and wedges became fashionable in the 1930s. Italian shoes became the benchmark for style and quality. Closely associated with this period are the names of Italian Salvatore Ferragamo and French Steven Arpad, who invented several new shoes that later became classics.

The footwear in the second half of the FOOTWEAR IN THE SECOND HALF OF THE 20TH CENTURY The Age of

In the second half of the 20th century there was a real breakthrough in the shoe industry. Famous actors and musicians began to have a huge impact on fashion. The Beatles, for example, made Chelsea boots very popular, Audrey Hepburn made the kitten heel fashionable, and the comic strips about the little boy Buster Brown made Mary Jane boots popular.

In the 1950s, platform and wedge heels were replaced by the stiletto heel. To this day, the debate over who invented this still-popular paragraph has not died down. Various sources name the French designers Roger Vivier and Raymond Massaro as well as the Italian Salvatore Ferragamo as the inventors of the stiletto heel. However, most believe that Roger Vivier was the first, as he designed the elegant high-heeled sandals for Queen Elizabeth's coronation.

In the 1960s, short skirts came into fashion, and with square toes and low heels, brightly colored high-heeled shoes became very popular.

The boom in sports shoes began in the 1980s and 1990s. Many shoe companies have branched out into making sneakers. Adidas, Puma, Reebok, Nike and other well-known brands have become market leaders.

At the end of the twentieth and beginning of the twenty-first century, shoe designers and manufacturers experimented a lot with styles and materials, sometimes combining incompatibles. Comfort and practicality are in the foreground. But despite the great variety of models, shoes made from natural materials and traditionally manufactured are still very popular. Italian, English and German manufacturers remain leaders in terms of quality, comfort and beauty of shoes, skillfully combining traditional materials and production methods with modern technology.
