orthotics

Pain and discomfort are our body language. They tell us that something is wrong, requires special attention, and signals a possible injury. Our body is a complex, interconnected system, so eliminating pain is not always the solution.

Formthotics – Tailor-made insoles

Formthotics is a method for preventing and treating diseases of the musculoskeletal system using orthoses. The Formthotics insoles help restore the function of the foot, eliminate joint pain, form correct posture and gait, thereby counteracting the main factor in foot diseases - the 'insufficiency' of the foot muscles.

The cause of flat feet, valgus, corns and crooked toes is modern city life. We walk on hard floors, force our feet into hard and heavy shoes and overload them with high heels. As a result, pressure increases, bones gradually deform, and muscles and ligaments wear out and become weak.

The feet can perform their functions, e.g. B. the cushioning of micro-shocks when walking is no longer fulfilled, the interaction of the muscles during the step is destroyed and the gait changes. The result is damage to the joints and the bones 'above' them: knees, pelvis and spine.

The correct distribution of the load on the foot neutralizes the 'risk zones', and one way to achieve better contact with the supporting surface of the foot is with Formthotics insoles, which fully adapt to the curves of the individual foot. As a result, the weight of the body is evenly distributed over the sole, excessive pressure on individual areas disappears and swelling, cramps and pain are eliminated.

Many people believe that the main purpose of an orthopedic insole is to fix the foot in the 'correct' position to prevent flat feet, valgus, clubfoot, etc. However, with such mechanical support, the foot is unable to withstand even small loads.

Formthotics insoles do not restrict movement; on the contrary, the flexible material forces the muscles to remain tense and perform micro movements to maintain balance. Combined with targeted exercises, this is an effective way to combat not only flat feet, but also numerous diseases of the musculoskeletal system.

Formthotics orthopedic insoles made to order

Custom orthopedic insoles from Formthotics

You can't easily buy Formthotics insoles in a store or pharmacy, nor can you order them online. To get the pair you want, you must go to a FormThotics certified doctor who is trained in the FormThotics method.

The doctor will carry out all the necessary functional tests and select the optimal model for your feet based on your height, weight and degree of foot deformity.

podoscopeSelection

After the blank is selected, it is inserted into the shoe and heated in a special machine. The innovative Formax material from which the blank is made becomes flexible under the influence of the warm air flow. The heated blank adapts to the shoe. All you have to do is put on your shoes and walk around for a few minutes so that the insole can adapt to your movements.

Shaping

This way you will receive your Formthotics insoles the same day you put them on, or more precisely within 30-40 minutes!

After 2-4 weeks (at the latest after 2 months) you need to see your doctor to have your insoles adjusted. During this time you will get used to the new feeling and assess the level of comfort or discomfort while walking. The doctor will examine you again, diagnose your feet and adjust the shoe insoles if necessary. The aim of the correction is to eliminate unevenness and stabilize your foot with special wedges.

Once your feet are fully adapted to the insoles, you will feel like your feet fit into the footwear and you will achieve the best possible results.

insoles ORTHO PROFESSIONAL COMPLEX Developed for the treatment of predominantly fixed forms of longitudinal and transverse flat feet as well as for the prevention of injuries and diseases of the musculoskeletal system. Thanks to the combined effect of Memopur® and Silverline coating, they increase the range of motion and improve the quality of life.

Memopur ® – is a polyurethane foam based material with unique properties, one of which is the shape memory effect. This gives the insole an individual shape that enables optimal pressure distribution on the foot.

silverline – is an innovative material specially developed for the top cover of orthopedic insoles. Thanks to its silver thread content, it has an antibacterial function, a strong absorption effect and a high resistance to mechanical stress.

Purpose of ORTO PROFESSIONAL COMPLEX:

  • Arch support and correction;
  • painless rolling;
  • Normalization of the hindfoot in valgus deformities;
  • relief of the sole tendon;
  • Reducing shock loads on the joints of the lower limbs and spine in the treatment and prevention of musculoskeletal system diseases.
  • Longitudinal and combined flatfoot in grades II-III;
  • Osteochondropathies of the foot (Köhler II disease, Renander-Müller disease, etc.) with severe pain syndrome;
  • Plantar fasciitis ('heel spurs') with severe pain syndrome;
  • Comprehensive rehabilitation for dorsopathy (osteochondrosis of the cervical, thoracic and lumbosacral spine) and arthropathy of the lower limbs (coxarthrosis, gonarthrosis, osteoarthrosis of the ankle), conditions after injuries and operations;
  • Prevention of diseases of the musculoskeletal system with prolonged static and dynamic loads.

How do you wear orthopedic insoles correctly?

An orthopedic insole should be placed as far into the toe area of the shoe as possible. At the same time, the heel must rest on the insole. If the insert is too long, it can be shortened with scissors, but not by more than 3 to 5 mm (unless this does not comply with the instructions for use).

Many orthopedic insoles have an adhesive applicator that attaches the insoles to the shoe. Even if this is missing, a properly fitted insole will not shift in length.

When you order your custom insoles from a specialist workshop, they will be adjusted by a technician for the first time. He will show you how to do it right. Ready-made insoles that were not purchased in an orthopedic workshop are applied according to the instructions.

How do I have to care for my insoles?

The insoles should be removed and ventilated daily. The insoles may not be washed, only cleaned. This is due to the construction of the orthosis. The lower part of the frame can change in geometry when washed under running water or in the washing machine. The upper layer that comes into contact with the foot has an antimicrobial impregnation - washing it will completely remove it and the product will become unusable more quickly.

Insoles are gently cleaned with brushes and wiped with damp cloths. Moisten the cloths with an alcohol solution for leather and a slightly concentrated soap solution for textiles.

Be careful not to use concentrated lye and acid solutions. Dry your shoe insoles under natural conditions - not on a heater, not with a hair dryer, not with an iron and not in the sun.

How long do I need to wear the insoles to achieve results?

There is no clear answer to this question, as the time required to achieve improvement depends on the degree of deformity of the foot in question, the duration of the disease, etc. This period is individual for each person.

Based on patient observations, we can say that relief can be felt from the first minute or within 2 to 4 weeks.

However, it is important to remember that the orthoses should be worn continuously and you need to get used to them gradually.

If you notice little or no improvement in your well-being after 4-6 weeks, you should consult your doctor.

Why do I feel uncomfortable in orthoses?

Custom insoles can be made for various purposes. If orthotics are made to correct the position and shape of your feet, you will likely experience some discomfort and it will take some time to get used to them.

The feet deform over a long period of time and gradually assume a pathological position. Custom-made insoles correct the pathological shape of the foot into the individual physiological shape. Therefore, it may take some time to get used to the new position and shape of the foot supported by the insoles. But remember that the insoles support your individual foot shape. On average, it takes 10-14 days for your feet to fully adjust.

However, if you have discomfort and find getting used to the insoles painful, we recommend that you gradually increase the time you wear the insoles. There's no reason to torture yourself. Start by wearing the insoles for about 1 hour per day or until you feel tired. As you notice that the pain and discomfort are decreasing, you can gradually increase the wearing time. If the insoles don't cause discomfort for more than 3-4 hours, you can probably wear them all day long. Your feet will quickly get used to the insoles and you won't want to be without them anymore.

If you still have mild discomfort after the adjustment period, you may need to have your previously made insoles adjusted.

Benefits of Prescription Insoles

  1. effectiveness By keeping your foot in the correct position and relieving pressure on certain parts of your body, you can improve the condition of your feet, spine and body.
  2. Direct effect An insole gradually returns the foot to a physiological state, which is important in the treatment of orthopedic diseases.
  3. Comfort The individual insole supports the foot exactly where it is needed, taking into account the anatomical characteristics of the user's feet.
  4. Comfort The individual insoles can be transferred from one pair of shoes to the next, allowing the user to enjoy the same level of comfort in all shoes.
  5. longevity We produce high-quality insoles using certified technology and give a quality guarantee.

Custom-made insoles are particularly necessary to prevent foot problems in overweight people, physically active people (sports, work) and pregnant women.

Complex treatment with insoles is also necessary:

  • flat feet;
  • osteochondrosis;
  • joint pathologies;
  • deformities of the toes;
  • scoliosis;
  • heel spur;
  • varicose veins.

Orthopedic insoles are essential after various types of foot surgeries. They are also useful for completely healthy people, as they allow more comfortable movement and prevent the development of foot problems in the future.

How are orthopedic insoles made individually?

Orthoses can be prescribed in consultation with an orthopedic trauma surgeon. The doctor will first examine the patient's musculoskeletal system and use a plantoscope to examine the bones of the foot and the function of the joints in detail.

An impression of the patient's foot is taken on a special membrane cushion. The material is made of plastic and the doctor can manually adjust the impression to the patient's foot.

The adjustments are made in such a way as to unload certain areas of the lower limbs as much as possible (to stop or prevent the development of pathological changes). If there are no foot problems, the insole should provide good support to all areas of the foot and ensure good load distribution.

A heated insole blank is placed in the impression. The material takes the shape of the insole exactly as specified. Once the material has hardened, the insole can be used.

How do I know if I need an orthopedic insole?

Orthoses are indicated in the following cases:

  • Pain syndrome in the feet, which manifests itself in the form of deformities.
  • Long periods of standing on your feet, followed by severe fatigue.
  • Uncomfortable footwear that leads to abrasions, blisters and sores.
  • Pregnancy – increases stress on the spine and limbs and can lead to flattened feet.
  • Arthritis – Joints in the feet and knees may be affected.
  • Osteosclerosis – changes in bone strength and severe pain; Orthotics can restore normal limb alignment.
  • Heel spurs – an abnormal growth of bone tissue that is associated with increased stress on the feet. Orthoses restore normal metabolism and relieve pain.

How do they work?

The main goal of Ortho Correct is to form the correct gait and eliminate negative external factors that cause distortion of the cartilaginous and bony structure of the feet. This is difficult, but the prognosis is favorable if the instructions are followed.

Insoles are versatile and suitable for all types of footwear. They can be used in both fashion shoes and casual shoes. The most important thing is to choose the right size. The lower plastic part 'forces' the foot into the correct position so that the body weight is shifted to different places without putting too much strain on the heel and toes.

Instructions for use

Wear the Ortho Correct for a longer period of time. There is no limit to the duration of the course, so it is advisable to wear the orthopedic insoles with normal footwear. Discontinue therapy if severe pain or numbness occurs.

Please note that in addition to using Ortho Correct orthoses to prevent pathological conditions, you should pay attention to the following points

  • Walk barefoot on uneven surfaces (e.g. sea stone);
  • Don't overwhelm your feet with physical activity;
  • Normalize your diet (more fiber and vitamins);
  • Give your feet a break and perform self-massage for at least 20-30 minutes a day.

If the above recommendations do not help, you should consult your doctor again.

Why do our feet need support?

Humans have been walking on our planet for thousands of years, aren't we already too good at it? Why do many of us need additional support in the form of orthoses?

In fact, the human environment has changed dramatically in the last 200 years. Our feet were originally designed for soft surfaces – earth, sand, grass, clay. However, today we are surrounded by concrete and stones, and our feet come into contact with hard and flat surfaces every day.

Our lifestyles have also changed. We spend a lot of time sitting and our bodies are not used to physical activity. When we exercise, our joints, muscles and tendons are exposed to stress that they are not used to. This is made worse by modern footwear: high heels, shoes with blunt toes, tight shoes and sandals chafe, deform and injure our feet.

Biomechanical pain can be felt from the feet to the lower back. If you have pain in the areas shown in the picture, you should consult an orthopedist to correct the situation with orthoses.

About orthoses

Orthotics are an aid that the orthopedic surgeons of the MedClub Group rely on. Orthoses stabilize the lower limbs and make the basic treatment many times more effective. The system eliminates leg pain and muscle fatigue, prevents injuries and corrects spinal curvatures.

The individual orthoses can be made immediately after the first consultation. They are made exclusively for the patient and are therefore not comparable in effectiveness to the mass-produced orthoses and insoles sold in pharmacies. The patient does not need to visit an orthopedic store; the MedClub group orthopedic surgeon makes them in his practice using special, certified equipment.
